During the Jin and Yuan dynasties of China,the northern nomads entered the central plains twice,which made the poetry circle in this period show a unique development trend under the historical background of ethnic integration,and became an indispensable part of the development history of Chinese poetry.It is also important to note that the group of scholars who were active in the poetry circle of this period.Among them,Haowen Yuan,known as "a great master of literature",not only made remarkable achievements in the field of literature with his unique poetic theory,but also "took promoting literature as his duty" and tried hard to cultivate young talents and inherit the Chinese traditional literary.Most poets in the late Jin and early Yuan were influenced by him,including Jing Hao.Haowen Yuan and Jing Hao were the typical representatives of the northern poets during the Jin and Yuan dynasties,both with famous works spread around till present.Besides,there was a close and long-lasting personal relationship between them.Therefore,based on the extensive investigation of their works,this paper studies and compares their poetic theories and aesthetic purport,and expounds their contributions to the literary theory of northern China at that time,thus giving them a more accurate positioning in the history of Chinese poetics.The specific structure of the paper is as follows:The first chapter studies the historical origin of Haowen Yuan and Jing Hao,explains their respective academic growth path and poetic creation background,and probes into their transformation from teacher-student relationship to close friend relationship and its influence.The famous northern litterateur who originated from Jin dynasty,such as Jing Hao,Yun Wang and Yin Liu,all ever learned from him and communicated with him.Haowen Yuan was of great significance to the poetry circle in northern China during this period,so this paper calls this stage of the development of Chinese poetry "Haowen Yuan period",which not only highlights his importance,but also points out his guiding role for Jing Hao to become a famous poet in the early Yuan dynasty.The second chapter focuses on the poetic creation theory and connotation of Haowen Yuan and Jing Hao in the context of northern Chinese culture.During the change of Jin and Yuan dynasties,under the background of ethnic collision and multi-cultural fusion,Haowen Yuan and Jing Hao persisted in exploring the roots of traditional Chinese poetry and committed themselves to inheriting the Confucian system.They all emphasized the elegance of poetry and believed that the prevailing style of sharp,eye-catching and gaudy poetry could not convey true feelings and was harmful to the development of traditional Confucian poetics.Under the banner of advocating the wind of Han,Wei and Tang dynasties,they tried hard to realize the innovation of aesthetic purport and creative theory of poetry.The third chapter focuses on the aesthetics in the poems of Haowen Yuan and Jing Hao and investigates the relationship between the formation of their aesthetic purport and the specific geographical environment in the northern China.Both of them were influenced by the "San Jin" poetry fashion,and both shared the same aesthetic appreciation around the literati group of "Hefen poetry circle".They all emphasized the real and simple atmosphere of poetry,pursued the aesthetic appreciation of "natural and majestic",and advocate the so-called "He Tao" poetic style.However,Jing Hao was more influenced by neo-confucianism than Haowen Yuan,so he advocated the "Gao Gu" aesthetic purport of poetry.Therefore,more specifically,the poems of Haowen Yuan and Jing Hao respectively highlighted the aesthetic purports of "Zi Ran Zhen Chun" and " Zi Ran Gao Gu".
