With the deeper furtherance of “One Belt,One Road” and the profounder promotion of the new-fashioned Curriculum Standard(2017 version),Agreement has been reached that the ultimate goal of English teaching is to cultivate learners' intercultural communicative competence,which is increasingly outstanding.“One Belt,One Road” has extended to 66 countries,and cultural sphere is necessarily an inevitable element in the process of language service for countries along the line.To cultivate learners' intercultural communicative competence,consequently,is an essential constituent in nurturing service personnel for the immediate future in terms of English construction in senior high school.In addition,the New Curriculum Standard definitely advocates developing learners' cultural awareness and differentially categorizes and describes it.Under the deep impact of traditional teaching concepts and examinational system,however,teaching and learning of English in China pays more heed to the mastery of linguistic knowledge,bypassing the cultivation of pragmatic capability and communicative competence.Such phenomena then arise:(1)English teaching underscores linguistic knowledge,but belittle communicative capability,so it is commonplace that when it comes to English acquisition,learners in senior high school harbor the quality of “High Score and Low Ability”.(2)A majority of learners get inaccurate and inappropriate language employed in practical application due to the deficiency of cultural competence,contributing to culture shock,rigid transfer and mechanical application of mother tongue.(3)Misinterpretations and conflicts show up frequently owing to communicative errors and failures.It is,therefore,of great significance for teachers,as a whole,to grasp the coordination and homogeneity of linguistic formation and cultural instruction and to consciously construct learners' cultural awareness,with the intention of highlighting the communicative and service property and fulfilling the appropriateness and attestedness of language.The thesis consists of three major parts—the beginning part,the body part,and the ending part.To be specific,chapter 1,the introductory part,offers a brief statement of the background,the significance,the purpose and the content of this study.This chapter emerges with the topic of “One Belt,One Road”,and further makes a junction point with personnel cultivation in English learning in the new epoch.Meanwhile,the educational motif “New Curriculum Standard” is introduced,opening a window for the research contents,which means to recognize senior 2 students' ICC in English learning and teachers' practice situation in ICT,to clarify the deficiency and insufficiency and to put forward targeted suggestions and strategies.Chapters 2 to chapter 5 are encompassed in part 2,the core part.Respectively,chapter 2,literature review,from the viewpoint of culture and language,defines relative terms like culture?communication?ICC and ICA;and traces the chronological development of IC study in China as well as in America.Chapter 3 gets research questions identified: how to strengthen teachers' ICA?how to enhance students' IC initiative?how to reach the extent to which students can launch intercultural communication effectively and appropriately,minimizing IC errors and failures,and presents investigating participants and research methodologies including questionnaire investigation,interview and observation.With two state-owned high schools in Puyang County as the trial distract,3280 senior two students and their English teachers in total 29 are selected as research objects;questionnaire investigation and livestream interview are launched,and observation and documentation for real-time instructions are performed.As the hardcore and an aftermath of chapter 3,chapter 4 employing the research tool Excel,conducts exhaustive analysis and study of teachers' and students' ICA based on the theories of Second Language Acquisition(SLA),collectivism and individualism.Chapter 5 further pinpoints strategies and suggestions to raise and construct learners' cultural awareness according to the surveyed outcomes.Last but not least,chapter6,the ending part,indicates the quantity of research targets is insufficient and the research objects originate from a solo district.Therefore,it can be told that the research,to some extent,is of certain limitations.
