A Study On Hu Zongxian's Mufu Literature

In the Ming dynasty,“Mufu”,which means the offices of the governors or various governmental departments at the provincial and local level,had a universal and profound connection with literature.Many famous writers have had the experience of working in Mufu.Hu zongxian's Mufu was a typical case in the Ming dynasty,which brought together writers who had important influence on later generations such as Xu Wei,Mao Kun,Shen Mingchen and Wang Yin,and had frequent exchanges with scholars such as Tang Shunzhi.This study tries to reveal the true appearance and status of Hu Zongxian's Mufu literature in history,and to deepen the understanding of the development trend of literature in the middle and late Ming dynasty.In order to fully study Hu Zongxian's Mufu literature,this paper will focus on two problems.The first one is about the writers.How many writers are there in the Mufu,and who are they? Why did they come to work in the Mufu? How did this experience affect them? The second one is about literature.How did the writers engage in literature creation? What aesthetic ideals and literary ideas are embodied in their works? How did Hu Zongxian's Mufu literature affect the history of literature?To solve the first question,Chapter 1 and 2 try to reproduce the literary activities of Hu Zongxian's Mufu by collecting and identifying the historical records of the writers.Hu Zongxian is fond of literature,which is the direct reason to attract the writers.The writers mainly came from Anhui,Zhejiang and other regions where Japanese pirates were seriously affected.They were ambitious and also troubled by the setbacks in the imperial examination.They came to the Mufu for the utilitarian purpose of making a living,forming a literati group which was not only different from the local literati group,but also different from the literary schools.To solve the second question,Chapter 3 reproduces the literary writing and points out that the works seem to be passive by Hu Zongxian's order,but because they are in the front line,they really eulogize the victory and praise the general,and create a batch of works with regional characteristics and great appeal.Chapter 4 criticizes the Mufu literature.The works are filled with the enthusiasm of life.The content is practical.The language is natural.The last part points out that the writers occupied a dominant position in the mainstream literary circle,and the Mufu literature showed a personalized tendency to express the writers' own feelings,which played a transitional role in the development of literature in the middle and late Ming dynasty.
