The Study About The Omission Of "Le₁" After Resulative Construction

The resultative construction is composed of predicate verb with result complement,which has the common feature[+completion]with auxiliary word“Le₁”in the aspect of syntactic and semantic.Due to the complex structure of the resultative construction,it has received relatively little attention from the academia,when analyzing the omission of“Le₁”after the resultative construction,the paper,which takes the resultative construction as centre,has separately observed the influence of the object,adverb and sentence structure on the omission of“Le₁”after resultative construction.It explains with the theory of generalized transitivity,and draws a conclusion that transitivity is the essence of the omission of“Le₁”after resultative construction.The conclusion of the paper,firstly,the thesis has verified that these factors make no difference on the omission of“Le₁”after the resultative construction,including the grammatical meaning of the resultative construction,the transitivity of the predicate verb and result complement,the semantic orientation.It is found that the object will have an effect on the omission of“Le₁”after the resultative construction,because of the transitivity of the resultative construction.At the same time,it points out that the complement is the core of the resultative construction.Secondly,the article clarifies the differences and connections between the action completion and the event completion.It puts forward that the criterion of sentence establishment is the event completion.Given that the time adverb,range adverb and mood adverb will produce some influences on the omission of“Le₁”after the resultative construction,which is mainly reflected in the different features of transitivity such as aspect appearance,instantaneity and modality.Thirdly,on the basis of sentence analysis and the information framework of“background-prospect”,the paper has expanded the range of research and analyzed the effect of different sentence patterns on the omission of“Le₁”after the resultative construction,containing the“Bei”sentence,the verb copying sentence,the pivotal sentence and the predicate sentence.It shows that the influence of sentence,the omission of“Le₁”after the resultative construction,is mainly realized by the physical appearance and the relative transitivity between the adjacent components.
