Narrative ethics is a category of literary and artistic theories conceived in the1980 s and formed in the early 1990 s.In the late 1990 s,introduced by Liu Xiaofeng and other scholars,it spread to the domestic academic circle and became an important vision and method for the study of Chinese modern and contemporary literature, which played an important role in expanding the space of discipline innovation for modern and contemporary literature.Bi feiyu is a representative of the "post-60s" writers who became famous in the1990 s.The core purpose of his novels' narration is to observe and express the individual's life ethics. In the narration, the dialogue and resonance of life feelings among writers, characters and readers are completed. With his keen observation of reality,Bi Feiyu focused on exploring the ethical relationship between individual destiny, history and reality, and inquired into the value meaning of modern society to individual life,as well as the way for human to obtain freedom, showing his ultimate value concern for human beings. This paper aims to explore the narrative ethics of Bi Feiyu's novels, which take life and human nature as the main concern, and explore the rich ethical implications and aesthetic effects of his novels by analyzing the ethical interpretation of individual fate and individual survival in his works,as well as the presentation of multiple possibilities of human life. The thesis is divided into four chapters. The first chapter, from the two aspects of "traumatic memory" and "totalitarian criticism",analyzes the new narrative ethics of bi feiyu's early historical narration based on the dissolution of traditional historical narration. With the ethical consciousness of modernity, the author restates the individual trauma experience which was covered in the past, reveals the interaction between the power ethics and the life individuals, and expresses the respect for the individual life and the ideal of the reconstruction of the subject value. The second chapter analyzes the efforts of Bi Feiyu's novels to rebuild the critical and public ethical character of intellectuals in the attitude of introspection from two aspects: the ethical persistence of intellectuals in the revolutionary and war years and the lack ofpublic ethical character of modern urban intellectuals. The third chapter discusses the ethical concern in the gender narrative.Bi Feiyu expresses the humanistic concern for different gender subjects and tolerates the diverse forms of human life from two aspects: the awakening of female ethical subjects and the ethical dilemma of respect and male dignity. The fourth chapter analyzes the ethical metaphor of "technique" narration in Bi Feiyu's novels. The author integrates the "craft" and "art" elements contained in the "craft" into the creation of the novel.Starting from his own life experience, the writer pays attention to the close connection between the craft ethics and the life ethics, explores the beautiful perceptual life forms in the world, and fully demonstrates the concern of the modern individual free narrative ethics for the life value.
