Brahms,a German composer,has always been a very popular subject of academic research.As a prolific composer,Brahms enjoys an important position in the development of western music,as the forms of his work are diverse,and styles unique.His three sonatas for the piano and violin are generally regarded as rare treasures in violin repertoire.This thesis adopts his 1886 Sonata for Piano and Violin in A Major as the research object from various aspects,as the main purpose,therefore hoping to assist masses of players with having a more comprehensive understanding of this Brahms' work.This thesis is divided into three chapters The first chapter summarizes the life of Brahms and creating background of this sonata from historical perspective.The second chapter highlights on understanding the creation of work.In this chapter,the thesis writer is going to analyze text of the work from musical form.The third chapter is the key part for this sonata.Electing eight representative recorded versions,combining the own playing experience and supervisor's suggestions,the author will expound three important points for discussion hereby: the interpretation of partial musical terms,the bowing skills of the right hand and use of vibrato with the left hand,as well as the details that need paying attention to in the cooperation with piano performance.Thereby this thesis provides a cordial reference for mastering performance techniques and musical connotation more accurately...
