An Analysis Of The Composition And Performance Of Guzheng Fantasia <Yue Guo Xishi>

Zheng,as one of the oldest national plucked instruments on Chinese land.Its development so far,around the guzheng shape system,the technical inquiry,or the related music creation,has passed the generation after generation zither person's continuous running-in and refining.The zither art we are now exposed to on the road laid by our predecessors not only has the traditional precipitation but also contains the diversity of the new era.From the end of last century,there appeared a modern guzheng concerto with guzheng as the main play and piano as the auxiliary.The object of this paper is guzheng fantasy song <Yue Guo Xishi>,which is a modern concerto of guzheng and piano created by mr.he zhanhao in 2018,commissioned by the 35 th " shanghai spring" guzheng art week.The song consists of five parts : " longing "," water play "," war "," palace resentment " and " breaking free ".This paper describes the leisure and expectation of a happy life in the future for an ordinary rural girl like Xishi,and a series of mental changes in her exile after the war broke out.Xishi represents the experience of a common people,complaining of the unkind way of war,satirizing the selfishness and hypocrisy of the rulers fighting for power and profit,and giving people the yearning for a better and peaceful life in adversity.Starting from the music itself,this paper analyzes the composition,chord structure and cultural connotation of each part of the music.Combined with their own performance to explore tonality conversion skills and the use of guzheng performance techniques.To explore how composers can present such a literary image with complex emotions to the audience in a unique way of auditory art through the concerto form of guzheng and piano.
