The environment sculpture in campus is an important part in the construction of campus culture,which can not only decorate and beautify the campus space environment,but also spice the spiritual life of teachers and students.Undoubtedly,campus sculpture is an embodiment of the spirit and style of the times,reflecting the changes of the campus,students' spiritual outlook and the school's philosophy.As we all know,middle school is an important stage of basic education for teenagers,and excellent sculpture works in campus environment will become the driving force for teachers and students to learn and live,subtly affecting students' physical and mental development.Nowadays,strengthening the construction of middle school campus culture has increasingly become a major concern of the whole society.Therefore,the value and function of campus environmental sculpture should be fully embodied,which is urgently needed to be solved in the construction of middle schools.School should be a place for education,and culture is the core of the school.A good sculpture of campus environment should condense the cultural value so that students can understand the cultural connotation from it.Students can be influenced by aesthetics,so as to improve the aesthetic level,enhance cultural literacy,and truly realize "space education,environment education".With the country's emphasis on and continuous investment in basic education,the number of secondary school students is increasing.Moreover,as the scale of the school continues to expand,the construction of new campuses has become an overwhelming trend.Large-scale construction of new campuses has also increasinglypromoted the construction of campus environment.However,as a part of campus culture,campus sculpture faces a series of problems in creation,such as lack of cultural connotation,lack of aesthetic and other issues.In this paper,the method of combining theory with practice is applied.By summarizing a large number of effective cases through investigation and data consulting,and comparing and analyzing the advantages and disadvantages of the cases,this paper tries to summarize the main problems existing in the campus environmental sculpture of middle schools in China and the successful way of excellent cases.In addition,this paper adopts questionnaire survey to understand the demands of middle school students on campus sculpture,and these demands are in line with some theoretical viewpoints put forward by the author.In the research process,taking the actual design of relief sculpture in Shangluo Middle School as an example,this paper starts with the campus environmental sculpture under the cultural background,fully excavates the excellent regional cultural resources,extracts the characteristic culture,and then adopts the appropriate artistic expression form to transform them into design symbols and integrates them into the relief design.Then,aiming at the drawbacks of the current design,the paper puts forward the design theory of campus environmental sculpture with connotation,distinctive characteristics and in line with the school's situation.In addition,this paper also validates the viewpoints presented in the paper.And in this view,this paper further explore the middle school campus environmental sculpture forms.Finally,through theoretical and practical research,it summarizes the principles that should be followed in the environmental sculpture design of middle school campus.
