Design And Research Of College Campus Sculpture

In modern society, people have greatly increased awareness about the construction of campus material environment since college education is developing rapidly. In the construction of campus material environment, sculpture is one of the most important parts, which not only display the function of a pure visual appreciation, but also has potential influence on the campus environment and the guiding role of campus the teachers and students a potential. It has been in the construction of the campus environment has play a decisive role position. A good medium for campus sculpture is the spread of modern culture, it is silent broadcast, although it is stationary, but always affects people for aesthetic, emotional, thinking to the inside, at the same time it also records the progress of the society, to tell the history of the process. In fact, in China, the present stage university campus sculpture exist many problems.By reading a lot of literature at home and abroad, combined with the related theories of campus landscape ecology, landscape, sculpture, discussed the campus sculpture design, the main research contents are as follows:(1) We selected from three universities in Peking University, Tsinghua University, Fudan University as the research object, the three universities campus sculpture field investigation, investigation on distribution of the sculpture, according to the results of the survey analysis of the shortcomings of the present stage of the campus sculpture. Summarizes the present campus sculpture has similar themes, lack of creativity; the concept of fuzzy, difficult to understand; meaning plain, the lack of culture; the four problem of sculpture theme and environment does not match.(2) On the basis of the analysis, access to the relevant theories of information campus sculpture design and combining the actuality of the study object, proposes the suitable design principle of development of university campus sculpture, namely green ecological principle, humanity principle, sustainable development principle, main principles, functional principle, cultural principle, originality principle. To summarize the basic program of campus sculpture design, namely the data investigation, determine the subject, determine the location, design, material selection, selection of colour. Hope that the practice of planning and design in order to guide the same type. (3) The campus sculptures in Texas Tech University were summarized and analyzed. Several problems were found, such as:lack of the function of entertainment, drab of color and component material, and deficiency of the combination of different departments. For dissolving these problems, several corresponding suggestions, like expanding the scope of the sculptures, increasing the types of color and materials applied, applying the novel styles of artistic expression and adding the combinative sculpture, were put forward in this thesis.Campus sculpture is an important part of the campus material culture landscape and at the same time a beautiful campus environment and cultural landscape. It has beautiful appearance outside and profound connotation. It is spreading the campus culture, recounting the history, carrying forward the fine tradition of the campus and showing the affirmative spirit.
