Research On The Differences In The Performance Of Stage Plays And Film Adaptation

In the hundred years of development of feature films,it has always been an important theoretical research topic to adapt excellent stage plays into successful film works.Stage play and film as two different art forms possess their own ways of expressing artistic features in plot expression and plot development in the media age today.It is the transformation of these two different art forms in the way of plot expression that makes the spectators feel that film produces a visual narrative effect far more influential than the stage play does with the same story content.This paper focuses on four aspects of stage play adapted film,elaborated as: how to increase the amount of audience of stage play adapted film;how to expand the influence of stage play adapted film works;how to carry forward the thought and connotation of excellent stage play;and how to enrich the theoretical research of stage play adapted film.As the carrier of theme and plot in film creation,film script bears profound social and cultural implications.The adaptation of stage play into film should not only preserve the excellent artistic elements of stage play,like language expression,dramatic conflicts,performance methods and so on,but it should also expand the expression of stage play in a cinematic way.This paper analyzes the artistic strategies of stage play film adaptation based on three influential plays presented by “Mahua FunAge” The plays are "Goodbye Mr.Loser”,“Mr.Donkey" and “Never Say Die”With stage play scene scheduling and film scene scheduling as the main research object,this paper studies the visual adaptation of stage play adapted film in the way of plot presentation,and finds the theoretical path of excellent stage play adapted film.This paper takes the film adaptation of stage play as the object of theoretical research.Starting from the current situation of contemporary stage play development,then aims and analyzes the performance characteristics of contemporary stage play film adaptation in plot adaptation.This paper attempts to help young film directors to make a clear theoretical distinction in the performance of creating differences in storytelling between stage play and contemporary stage play adapted film.
