This translation practice report analyzes and summarizes the translation process and experience of the Spanish part of Outre-Mer: A Pilgrimage Beyond the Sea.The words used in Longfellow's travels abroad are fresh and beautiful, and they brings people a certain aesthetic feeling. It is very difficult to transfer the aesthetic feeling in the process of Chinese translation.According to the theory of reception aesthetics, the essence of translation practice lies in the consideration of readers and the focus on readers. However, prose translation itself has certain aesthetic feeling. If the translated version fails to convey the aesthetic feeling of prose language,it will lead to the loss of its due value.Under the guidance of the theory of reception aesthetics, consideration of the beauty of the language from the perspective of the target audience is conducive to the transmission of the original creative meaning. The translation report is divided into five parts:The first part is the description of translation task.It introduces the background, significance, current situation and development trend of Longfellow's Outre-Mer: A Pilgrimage Beyond the Sea.The second part is the author analyzes some viewpoints of reception aesthetics and its enlightenment to this translation practice report. The third part is the description of translation process, including pre-translation preparation, translation process and post translation proofreading. The fourth part is translation methods and case analysis. This part mainly describes translation difficulties from lexical difficulties and sentence difficulties. In the original text,Longfellow uses ancient English,French and Spanish, which makes the translation practice more difficult. In view of this,a series of translation methods are adopted, such as literal translation, free translation, added translation and omitted translation. The fifth part is summary and experience, including translation practice summary and translation practice experience.Through the translation of Longfellow's travels in Spain, this paper aims to make the readers have a clearer understanding of Longfellow's literary life and contribute to the spread of Longfellow's literary works in China.
