English writing is one of the four basic skills of the English language learning,and it plays a very important role in the second language acquisition.English writing is also the embodiment of English learners' comprehensive language ability.However,as junior learners,middle school students are commonly found to conduct various errors in their English writing.And it seems to have been a thorny problem for both English teachers and students in junior middle school,which is too tough to be avoided or dealt with.Based on the theory of Corder's error analysis research,this paper is mainly to investigate the errors in junior middle school students' English writing so as to find out and analyze the relevant causes and help improve the English writing teaching as well in junior middle school.300 students in Grade 3 from No.55 Middle School and Joy English School in Luoyang are selected as the research objects in the research.And the research methods of text analysis,questionnaire survey and error analysis are mainly used to collect and analyze the types of errors in students' English compositions and their writing habits and attitudes through the form of questionnaires.The study results are revealed as follows: the errors in junior middle school students' English writing mainly include intralingual and interlingual ones.And the causes of the errors are mainly due to the following aspects in the research: The first reason is the students' one-sided understanding and mechanized mastery of English grammar and writing rules caused by intralingual transfer.The second reason is the students' lack of social and cultural knowledge and the influence of Chinglish caused by interlingual transfer.Beside,students' incorrect writing attitude and habits will also affect their English writing efficiency.In addition,the teaching strategies of junior middle school English teachers and the writing strategies of the students will affect their English writing.Last but not least,the number of errors students make in their English composition may also be related to their mentality.
