The Ethical Narration Of Su Tong's Novels

Su Tong entered the literary circles in the 1980 s with his first novel--The eighth is the bronze.Since he entered the literary circles,Su Tong has been active on the stage of contemporary literature with his unique narrative strategy and his own aesthetic characteristics.However,he was not limited by a certain way of creation,but consciously transformed in his creation,from pioneer literature to “new historicism” to “new realism”.The ethical narrative theme is implicit or explicit in Su Tong's novels.This paper analyzes the significance of his works in contemporary literature by studying the ethical narrative theme in his novels.The main body of the paper is divided into two parts: introduction and text.First Part is the introduction.First,the research status of Su Tong's novels is summarized to clarify the status and direction of this paper in the research of Su Tong's novels.Second,the paper introduces the background and significance of the topic,defines the concept of ethics and ethical narration,and briefly summarizes the presentation of the basic theme of ethical narration in Su Tong's novels.Secondly,the body part summarizes the ethical narration in Su Tong's novels into three parts: family ethical narration,historical ethical narration and life ethical narration,corresponding to the following three chapters:Chapter one,family ethics.In Su Tong's novels,the family ethical relations such as father and son,mother and daughter,brothers and sisters formed on the basis of blood relationship are different from the warmth and harmony in traditional novels.Su Tong's narrative of family ethics shows his reflection on the existence of individuals in the traditional family ethics and their free life.Chapter two,historical ethics narrative.In his novels,Su Tong deconstructs the grand history by imagination.In the process of narrating history,Su Tong focused his narration on people,and placed people in the center of the narrative,and completed the strategy of “capitalized people”.Chapter three,the narrative of life ethics.First part is the existence of suffering.Su Tong writes the life of suffering,showing the difficulty of survival to the readers,showing the pain of the existence of life,and triggering the reflection on the real life.Second,the theme of death.Su Tong's novels are full of the gloomy breath of death,and death images are everywhere in the text.Su Tong prefers to write about death,which shows his most genuine concern and inquiry for life.Conclusion part,the paper summarizes characteristics of narrative ethics of Su Tong's novel.No matter family ethical narration or historical ethical narration or ethical narration of life,Su Tong adheres to the principles of humanism in the three dimensions,such as family ethics narration and historical ethics narration or bioethics narration,and focusing on the present existence,showed his thinking about life.
