With the advancement of the new curriculum reform,English classroom teaching should create more opportunities for training learners' language communication skills.The teaching process is a dynamic development of the integration of teaching and learning,and the classroom is essentially a platform for teachers and students to communicate and interact with each other.The interaction between teachers and students plays an important role in English class.Therefore,creating and designing an efficient and high-quality teacher-student interaction becomes the key to improving the quality of classroom teaching and ensuring the effectiveness of classroom teaching activities.English teachers in junior high schools need to improve the situation of teacherstudent interaction.The interaction between teachers and students of excellent teachers has reference significance.The purpose of this study is to explore the characteristics of teacher-student interaction of excellent English teachers in junior high school,and try to answer the following questions:(1)What is the characteristic of discourse quantity in excellent English teachers' classroom?(2)What is the characteristic of classroom questioning and answering in excellent English teachers' classroom?(3)What is the teaching inclination in excellent English teachers' classroom?(4)What is the classroom atmosphere in excellent English teachers' classroom?In view of the above problems,four high-quality English classes in the 11 th National Junior High School English Exemplary Lessons were chosen in this study for quantitative and qualitative analysis.Classroom observation and case study were adopted in this thesis.Based on the improved Flanders Interactive Analysis System(iFIAS),the author used the qualitative analysis tool Nvivo to encode the interactive behaviors related to the four sample videos.The data analysis of sample videos was carried out by coding coverage and other methods.The results show that:(1)Excellent teachers can respect the student's main position and give students relatively more voice.(2)More closed-ended questions than open-ended questions are raised in class by excellent teachers.(3)Excellent teachers tend to employ indirect teaching inclination in classroom teaching and are adept at using questions to guide students' learning.(4)Excellent teachers pay great attention to the emotional interaction with students,and the classroom atmosphere isharmonious.Based on the above results,the following implications are drawn:(1)Teachers should create a good interactive atmosphere for students,accept students' emotions,encourage them,and accept and actively use the students' viewpoints to actively mobilize students' initiative.(2)The types of questions should be diversified,and open-ended and innovative questions should be mentioned.(3)Teachers should exert more indirect influences on students in the teaching process.(4)Teachers should update their teaching concepts and continuously improve their teaching methods.(5)Teachers can use multimedia technology to create rich teaching situations that are conducive to stimulating students' enthusiasm.
