During the May 4th Movement,the development of Chinese theatre was more active than ever before.The aestheticism also had an impact on the development of Chinese drama during the period when people were receptive to new trends of thought in the world.Oscar Wilde's distinctive artistic ideas and unique artistic expression met the aesthetic needs of young Chinese dramatists during this period,which not only enlightened the development of Chinese drama ideologically,the idea of literature and art and the way of expression are also deeply influential,and produce the mysterious and mysterious unique dramatic image on the land of China.In this paper,Oscar Wilde and his aestheticism masterpiece Salome,as well as its impact on the creation of Chinese drama as a research object.The first chapter describes the cultural background of the western Aestheticism,the birth of the tragedy Salome and Salome's reception in the Chinese cultural context.The second chapter analyzes the rebellious spirit and female consciousness in Salome,and analyzes its influence on Chinese modern drama creation.The third chapter collates the dramatic works influenced by Salome in the May 4th period,and analyzes their characteristics and aesthetic tendency from the two aspects of theme and form.The Fourth Chapter analyzes the uniqueness of the Chinese aestheticism plays under the influence of Salome,and the reasons and enlightenment of the disappearance of Oscar Wilde's aestheticism in China after the 1930 s.
