Education bears the important mission of modern social development.Textbooks,as an important educational and teaching resource,are an important medium for schools to carry out teaching activities and achieve educational and teaching goals.As an important stage of the development of China's education modernization,the Republic of China period laid the foundation for the development of China's modern education.The natural textbooks of the Republic of China period incorporated physics,chemistry,biology,geography and other subjects,covering a wide range of content and rich and diverse terms.Among them,geography,as a complex subject to study the interaction between natural and human elements on the earth's surface,involves the study of the spatiotemporal evolution,structure,process,pattern and relationship between regional differentiation and human-land relationship among various elements on the earth's surface.,Has a very important impact on human production and life.It is still an important subject at the stage of compulsory education at present,and its research content is continuously developed and perfected.It should be summarized and reviewed.As a core concept of imparting geographical knowledge,geographical terminology has a strong scientific,rigorous and systematic nature.In the elementary school stage,the perfect subject system is built for children,and the first and foremost is to construct a reasonable and scientific terminology structure.Based on the comprehensive consideration of the academic system of the Republic of China,curriculum standards,the nature of textbooks,and the edition,printing,circulation area,completeness and other factors of the primary textbooks of the Republic of China,this study selected the publications published by the China Bookstore and the World Bookstore.The elementary school natural textbooks are the research objects,and the textbooks on the knowledge of geography are extracted and used as the closed corpus of this article.The literature research method,comparative research method,and case analysis method are used to organize and analyze the content of the geographical terms.I tried to make an in-depth analysis of the geography terms in the two sets of natural textbooks during the Republic of China period,to explore their differences in terminology arrangement,and at the same time provide some reference for the current textbook arrangement.In addition to the introduction,this article is divided into the following five parts:The first chapter introduces the overview of the natural textbooks of the primary schools in the Republic of China,including the background of the compilation of textbooks,the principles of selecting textbooks,a brief introduction to the research samples of natural textbooks,and the definition of terms and the principles of extraction.Because the content of natural textbooks covers a wide range,theextraction process is relatively complicated,and it needs to involve the analysis of the context of the text,which plays a crucial role in the accuracy of later research results.Therefore,it is necessary to summarize the meaning of terms and extraction principles before extraction.Chapters 2 and 3 are the main parts of this article,and statistical analysis of the terminology content of the natural textbooks published by China Bookstore and World Data,respectively.First,extract the relevant geography texts in the textbooks to form a closed corpus,manually extract the geographical terms in it,analyze them from three aspects: the distribution of terms,the discipline system under the construction of terms,and the usage characteristics presented by the terms.Explore an overview of the textbook geography terms.Chapter 4 is a comparison of the contents of geography terms in the two sets of textbooks.Use comparative analysis and case analysis to compare and analyze the usage and characteristics of geographical terms in the two sets of textbooks in terms of how they are constituted,the discipline system under which they are constructed,the differences in the distribution of terms,and other aspects.Discuss the difference between it and the current terminology,and discuss the progress of the development of the discipline.Chapter 5 provides some references for the terminology arrangement in current textbooks based on the research results.Mainly includes: 1.Terminology arrangement should focus on the systematicity of knowledge structure;2.Strengthen the effective use of illustrations in term interpretation;3.Adhere to the child-oriented thinking;4.Improve the operating system.At the same time,it is recommended to strengthen the research on textbooks in terminology research.
