As a member of the Sixth Generation,Zhang Yang used his popular creative experience to generate a set of his own director style,thus achieving a delicate balance between art and commerce.At the same time,through the presentation of Zhang Yang's works,we can find that he is a director with a very sense of space.In his films,there are daily spaces like the family in our lives,but also the gradually distorted metropolis that develops rapidly in a modern context.As well as the poetic rural journey and the form of Kang Rinpoche divine region.At present,the related academic research on Zhang Yang in China is more on the aspects of director's film style,writing of humanistic value and narrative search.The space study of Zhang Yang's films are only used as part of the existing article,and these discussions did not classify Zhang Yang's film space,thus showing a general,one-sided,and fuzzy research position.However,after entering the second half of the 20 th century,more and more scholars began to pay attention to the research topic of Spatial Turn.With the continuous development of research,other disciplines such as geography,political science,and cultural studies have also begun to intervene in the space research.Film,as a kind of space-time art,is born with a close relationship with Space.The interdisciplinary study of space theory and multidisciplinary also makes the dimension of film research continue to develop.Therefore,it is reasonable to select Zhang Yang as the research subject,and it also fills the lack of the spatial category of director Zhang Yang's research.This article combines relevant spatial theories and theories of spatial geography,cultural geography,and spatial politics that intersect with them,and uses the work of director Zhang Yang as the textual support to analyze the space,the characters in space and the imagery in space.In the introduction part,starting with the background of Spatial Turn,sort out and analyze the domestic current status of film space research.And propose the potential of space research,the Zhang Yang's sensitivity to film space,and the shortcomings of Zhang Yang's film space research in this stage.Finally,draws the necessity of this study.In the first chapter,the paper mainly discusses the Metropolis,Rode,and Divine Region in Zhang Yang's films,and thereby showing his concern and reflection on modern society,character relationships,and beliefs.In the second chapter,the paper mainly discusses the isomorphic relationship between characters and space.Through the exhibition of film space,it describes the images of Father,Women and Nonentities in Zhang Yang's films,thereby expressing the director's reflection to the individual in the context of times.In the third chapter,starting with the theory of image in Chinese Philosophical.The paper selects the Scenes,Props and Life images appearing in Zhang Yang's films,and to discuss the director's attachment to traditional culture,the emotional complexities of the father-and-son relationship and the writing of individual life.In the end,the paper summarizes the inner logic of the image space of Zhang Yang and to clear the different references to reality and spirituality in the video space world.Otherwise,It will analyzes the director's concern for modern society,character relationships,and beliefs once again.In addition,the text points out some of shortcomings of director in his personal transition period.
