As a unique director of the China film festival,Zhang Yang is an advocate of “return to the mainstream” and his film has become a model of both art and business.Zhang Yang's works presented the audience with a wonderful world of images with strong humanistic care and unique artistic language.This article mainly takes the aesthetic style of Zhang Yang film as the topic,and systematically analyzes Zhang Yang's works.Based on a comprehensive analysis of Zhang Yang's unique film performance and visual presentation,I summed up the core aesthetic characteristics of Zhang Yang's film ideographic systems.Then it traces back to its origins,explores the source of the aesthetic value aesthetic inspiration of Zhang Yang's films.From the discussion of the aesthetic purports and creative breakthroughs contained in Zhang Yang's film works.This paper is divided into the three chapters to discuss the aesthetic style of Zhang Yang's films.The first chapter mainly discusses the aesthetic presentation of Zhang Yang's films,and analyzes it from three chapters: narrative strategies,film language and choices of subjects.With narrative techniques,we use the ‘fragmentation',‘multi view structure 'and ‘ alienated narration ',and emotionally-driven narration.In the language of the film,we analyses the two aspects of picture modeling language and movie language,and explore Zhang Yang's artistic expression.The expression of the theme is mainly presented through three kinds of subjects: the living situation of vulnerable groups,the multiple expressions of urban emotions,and the subversion and return of families.The second chapter mainly discusses the aesthetic characteristics of Zhang Yang's films,which is also the main innovation of this article.This chapter divides the aesthetic characteristics of Zhang Yang's film into two stages.From 1997 to 2012,at this stage,Zhang Yang always adhered to the documentary style of photography and used allegorical narration to return to the traditional mainstream culture,while taking into account business and art.The main works after 2012 are the aestheticcharacteristics of the breakthrough period.At this stage,Zhang Yang began to pay attention to the theme of Tibet's subjects,through the construction of national nature,the “drama documentary” and “magic realism”,he achieved new breakthroughs in creation.The second chapter mainly discusses the origin the enlightenment of Zhang Yang's film aesthetic style.It mainly analyzes from three aspects: personal growth experience,multicultural influence,film production environment and cultural context change.Finally,the author elaborates the significance of Zhang Yang's aesthetic style for reference to contemporary Chinese films.Summary.We affirms the artistic value of Zhang Yang's films,and point out the shortcomings of Zhang Yang's film creation.
