As Mozart’s first master opera,Idomeneo changed people’s view of traditional Italian opera,which was the masterpiece of opera in 18 th century.In this paper,it takes Mozart’s opera Idomeneo as the research object,which focuses on the character of Elijah in the play.By starting from the analysis of the dramatic character of the character and the music of the aria,it combines with the three artists of Juliane Banse,Nadine Sierra,and Ekaterina Siurina who shape the character Elijah to explore the steps and methods of opera character shaping.As for this paper,it is divided into four chapters.In the first chapter,it makes a brief overview of the creation background of Idomeneo.In the second chapter,it takes the dramatic text as the starting point,which obtains the cognition of Elijah’s dramatic character,development and action line in the whole play through the dramatic analysis of the opera Idomeneo.In the third chapter,it takes the composer’s music text as the breakthrough point,which combines with the dramatic character and action line of Elijah in the third section of the second chapter to analyze the music and drama performance of Elijah’s three arias.In the fourth chapter,it discusses the steps and methods of opera character building through the comparison of Elijah’s characters created by three different artists.According to the research,it is found that Elijah’s dramatic character has experienced many changes in the play,such as from refusing love to the willingness of sacrificing for love.Besides,the composer deliberately highlights the emotional state of Elijah in the music during the dramatic character change.Although it exists differences in the image creation of Elijah by the three artists,they shape it on the basis of the drama text and music text by combining with their own aesthetic taste and their own sound conditions. |
