The elements of the Chinese traditional musical elements,such as opera,folk songs,gongs and drums,and literati music,are increasingly appearing in the creation of Chinese contemporary composers.Xu Mengdong is one of the representative composers who perfectly combines Chinese traditional musical elements with western techniques in Chinese contemporary music,and his works are representative to some extent.This article selects Xu Mengdong created Sound From Ancient Times(For Violoncello and orchestra),Symphony Fantasia(For Viola and Orchestra)and Symphonic Variations Silu Luyun(For Guitar and Orchestra)three symphony works as the research object,from the themes of the works of the structure,material,pitch,timbre,and many other perspective thinking in which the use of traditional Chinese music structure and reflect,expounds the three films in the position and value of Xu Mengdong writing career,and probed into the work reflects the composer's creative features and aesthetic interest.The thesis consists of five chapters,introduction and two appendices.The first chapter starts with the introduction and carding of Xu Mengdong's works,briefly summarizes Xu Mengdong's music learning experience and achievements,combs his works in stages,and summarizes the characteristics of the three works to be analyzed in this paper.The second to the fourth chapters take the Chinese traditional music structure thinking as the entry point,respectively carries on the comprehensive analysis to the three works.Sound From Ancient Times,which is the composer reading Yu Qiuyu poem,the Shanju Biji's eleventh composition is called Yaoyuande Juexiang.the second chapter on the analysis of the work focuses on the structure of the work,the core motive(in ancient music of Qin straight away the core motive),harmonic acoustics,aspects and so on works shows the Chinese traditional music thinking structure.Symphonic Fantasia is a symphonic work that uses the core motivation of two pentatonic triplets from the Chinese Qin song Liushui.The third chapter mainly analyzes the structure,motivation development,timbre and acoustics of the work from the perspective of traditional Chinese music structure thinking.Silu Luyun is a work combining Chinese and western both in the creation thought and the creation technique.The fourth chapter mainly analyzes the structure form of Passacaglia genre and Chinese traditional multi-paragraph juxtaposing as well as the characteristics of Chinese traditional music reflected in the development of music.On the basis of the above analysis and discussion,the fifth chapter summarizes Xu Mengdong's techniques and characteristics in symphonic music creation and the expression of aesthetic conception.Through the analysis of the above three works,this paper has a comprehensive understanding of the Chinese traditional music structure thinking embodied in Xu Mengdong's symphonic music creation.These three works are representative not only in Xu Mengdong's symphonic music creation,but also in Chinese contemporary music creation.
