English textbooks are an important part of the implementation of English curriculum.Junior is in the basic stage of contacting English curriculum.The quality of textbooks is one of the factors that affect the results of English Teaching in this stage.However,any textbook has its own advantages and limitations.Therefore,it is necessary to constantly evaluate the textbook from the inside to the outside,strengthen the reform of the textbook,so that it can give full play to the potential and advantages of the textbook.This study selects English textbooks published by People’s Education Press and Kangxuan Culture and Education Group as the research objects,constructs a static and dynamic research framework of textbooks,and systematically compares two sets of English textbooks by using literature method,content analysis method,comparative analysis method and questionnaire survey method.This study mainly includes the following contents:(1)the comparison of the surface structure(structure design,column design,layout design)and the deep structure(language knowledge,language skills,emotional attitude,cultural awareness,learning strategies)of the two sets of textbooks;(2)the comparison of the evaluation of teachers and students after using their own textbooks.The results show that there are some differences between the two sets of textbooks in the surface structure and the deep structure;the satisfaction of the textbooks published by the People’s Education Press is higher than that published by the Kangxuan Culture and Education Group in the post use evaluation,but there are still some problems to be improved;the two sets of textbooks have their own advantages and disadvantages.The main deficiencies of the textbooks published by the People’s Education Press are as follows: in the surface structure,there are some problems such as unclear structure of textbook,narrow selection range of unit topics,lack of new ideas and aesthetic feeling in the design of graphic;in the deep structure,there are some problems such as lack of voice practice;large vocabulary and unclear presentation;the textbook pay attention to reading and writing,but the reading and writing materials are not rich;the local culture and the world culture are less;learning strategyguidance is not obvious.At last,according to the conclusion of the study,the author puts forward the following suggestions English textbooks published by People’s Education Press: for textbook preparation aspects,strengthening the dialogue space of the compilation of the textbook,reasonably constructing the structure system of the textbook,expanding the scope of the unit topics of the textbook,stimulating the enthusiasm of learning with exquisite pictures and texts,reasonably presenting the content of language knowledge,balancing the training of language skills,enriching the selection of cultural content,and making clear the guidance of learning strategies;for textbook using aspect,grasping the knowledge system of textbook as a whole,building a dynamic teaching environment with books as a bridge,and digging in depth to promote the comprehensive development of students. |
