Experimental Dissociation Of Social Structure Schema:Behavior,Eye Movement And ERP Evidence

Through repeated experience in daily social life,people can obtain the potential relationship with the environment,which is represented as the corresponding social structure schema stored in long-term memory.Existing research shows that the shape of different ways of thinking between Chinese and western culture under the formation of the social structure schema has a certain difference,the Chinese circular culture has formed a unique circular social structure.In the three object relational structure,compared with the western linear structure,Chinese people prefer circular structure.In this study,behavior,eye movement and ERP techniques were used to explore whether the experimental dissociation of circular/linear social structure schema existed in Chinese subjects' processing of the relationship between the three objects.Study 1: Using the method of behavior experiment,text material was used to present the scene with certain social significance,to explore whether the subjects could quickly distinguish the scene of four different structures under the starting condition: circular structure,linear structure,circular-independence and linearindependence.The results show that the average reaction time of circular structures is significantly faster than that of linear structures,circular-independent and linearindependent.The circular start effect and the linear start effect are both significant.This indicates that the circular/linear structure can be dissociation,the circular structure is a global single processing unit,and the linear structure is a local processing unit.Study 2: Using the method of behavior experiment,picture material was used to present the scene with certain social significance,to explore whether the subjects could quickly distinguish the scene of four different structures under the starting condition: circular structure,linear structure,circular-independence and linearindependence.The circular start effect is significant.and the response to identifying picture materials is significantly longer than identifying text materials.It is shown thatthe circular/linear structure of picture materials can also be dissociation,and the cyclic structure is a global single processing unit.The three object social structure scheme is formed on the basis of concepts,not on the basis of vision.Study 3: Using eye movement technology,the eye movement index and information processing characteristics of circular/linear structure processing dissociation using picture materials were further explored.The results show that Time to First Fixation and Fixation Count of circular structure are significantly higher than that of linear structure.The processing dissociation of the circular/linear structure schema was verified again.In the early visual processing based on direct experience,the subjects preferred the circular structure,which may be an automatic processing.Study 4: Using ERP technology,the ERP index and neural mechanisms of circular/linear structure processing dissociation using picture materials were further explored.The results show that the circular structure of the N100 component has a significantly smaller amplitude than the linear structure,the circular structure of the P300 component has a significantly larger amplitude than the linear structure,and the circular structure of the N400 and P600 are both significantly smaller than the linear structure.The processing dissociation of the circular/linear structure schema was verified again.The circular structure is an global processing unit,which may be an automated processing;and the linear structure is a local processing unit,which may be a control processing.In a word,the circular/linear social structure schema can be experimental dissociation,and the circular structure is a global single processing unit,while the linear structure is a local processing unit.
