The mural tomb in the Hexi Corridor in the Wei and Jin Dynasties is known as the "underground gallery".The murals have distinct themes, rich contents and vivid reality, which is a strong witness to the high development of the tomb painting art in the Hexi Corridor in the Wei and Jin Dynasties. This not only reappears the real life of people in the Hexi Corridor in the Wei and Jin Dynasties, but also is the result of the coordinated development of political, economic and cultural elements at that time, covering the most vivid and profound cultural connotation of a period. In ancient Chinese primitive culture, there is a concept of seeing death as life.Death is not the end of life, but the beginning of another world. From the initial totem of bird worship,to the image of the combination of human, animal and bird in the early stage,to the image of human head and bird body with wings on shoulders. With the increase of people's desire for immortality and the increasingly rich imagination of the relationship between man and God,they are no longer satisfied with witchcraft activities, and begin to appear the world of gods in the imagination, resulting in an emissary who can communicate the world and the fairyland-the feather man.In the period of Wei and Jin Dynasties, from the palace to the common people, there was full of the pursuit of immortality and the expectation of immortality. The image of the feather man refers to the combination of man and bird. The head of the bird is human, the shoulders have two wings, and the gesture of flying is used as an emissary to face the immortal world. Most of the feather man figures in the Mural Tombs of the Wei and Jin Dynasties in Hexi appear in the form of one brick one painting and a large scale mural in the painting decoration of the Mural Tombs.People in Hexi not only enjoy the reality of life, but also yearn for immortality and blessings. Therefore, they built the tombs to continue the living conditions and life styles that are more satisfied with the reality,or imagine more yearning images to protect their tombs and deaths after the glorious life.Due to the influence of many foreign cultures,Buddhism,Taoism and Confucianism are integrated and communicated with each other, and the image of badminton has changed greatly and become more and more substantial. But as a whole,in the Wei and Jin Dynasties of Hexi Corridor, the images of the feather man entered a declining period, and the murals in the tombs gave off a strong flavor of Han painting in form and style. At the same time, the number and content of the images of the feather man in the mural tombs were far less abundant than that in the Han Dynasty. However, the description of Hexi mural line is obvious, bold and unrestrained, and has a strong sense of movement. Therefore, the overall level of the image of badminton still shows some progress compared with the previous tomb murals in Hexi corridor.
