Young: Practice And Reflection On Grierson's Documentary Theory

The graduation work“young”focuses on the fresh reality in the era of drastic changes,selects natural materials with news value and educational value in real life,and USES sound,lens,editing and other techniques to poetically deal with the materials.By recording the daily life and entrepreneurial stories of xu Yang,the sugar-turning girl,it shows the spirit of The Times of young people who are enterprising,brave in innovation,self-realization and serving the society,and praises the pioneering spirit of wuhan.Young is a conscious practice and exploration of grierson's record theory.Reflecting on the application of grierson model in contemporary China,this paper holds that grierson model can still play an important role in the new era of socialism with Chinese characteristics,which focuses on propaganda and education.The use of first-person narration in ordinary documentaries can avoid the criticism of “authoritative but self-righteous off-screen narration".In the new era of drastic changes,documentaries should adapt to the changes of The Times,find fresh materials for civic education in the new era with an open and inclusive mind,and not express the changing new era with a fixed and rigid vision.
