Interpersonal relationship is one of the main problems that disturb the mental health of college students.The psychological problem is more prominent in poor college students than non-poor college students.Social anxiety ranked to the highest detection rate among psychological problems of poor college students.Therefore,it is necessary to focus more on the research on social anxiety of poor college students.Although interpersonal problem is caused by many factors,an important cause of their trouble may be the difference in understanding social support,empathy level,and interpersonal trust.In Study?,after testing 548 students from four domestic universities and colleges with Social Avoidance and Distress Scale,Perceived Social Support Scale and Interpersonal Response Index Scale,it was found that the ability of poor college students to understand social support and empathy was significantly lower than non-poor college students;and the social anxiety of poor college students was significantly higher than non-poor college students.A correlation model was established based on the relation among understanding social support,empathy ability and social anxiety,and it was found that empathy played part of mediating effect in understanding social support and social anxiety,accounting for 29.4% in total effect.In Study ?,the object of study was expanded to the college students,and the path relationship between affective empathy,cognitive empathy,interpersonal trust and social anxiety was emphasized to clarify.210 college students from three universities received the test of Social Avoidance and Distress Scale,Interpersonal Trust Scale and Basic Empathy Scale.The test results showed that there was positive correlation between affective empathy,cognitive empathy and interpersonal trust,and negative correlation between affective empathy,cognitive empathy and social anxiety.There was a negative correlation between interpersonal trust and all dimensions of social anxiety.There was a significant negative predictive effect of affective empathy and interpersonal trust on social anxiety.The interpersonal trust played a completely mediating role(accounting for 80.5% of the total effect)in cognitive empathy and social anxiety.On the whole,understanding social support,empathy and interpersonal trust are the important factors affecting individual social anxiety,in which empathy and interpersonal trust play a role of mediating.The influence mechanisms of affective empathy and cognitive empathy on social anxiety are different.For affective empathy,it affects the emotional response of social anxiety to produce distressing experience;for cognitive empathy,it affects the judgment and expectation of social anxiety individuals on degree of intimacy of interpersonal relationship,and then affects the social anxiety.
