Zhong Xing and Tan Yuanchun are the representatives of Jingling School, their poetic theory and poetry creation are often marked by Zhuang Zi's thought.Zhong and Tan's acceptance of Zhuang Zi's thought was influenced by many factors, including the political difficulties in the internal and external difficulties of the late Ming Dynasty and the fierce party struggle, social thoughts dominated by Donglin School and Jishan School, and the rise of Zhuangxue in the middle and late Ming Dynasty.Zhong and Tan's poetic ideas were also influenced by Zhuang Zi's thoughts when they criticized and inherited the literary ideas of the Nigu and the Xingling. The "Xing" of Jingling School's "Xingling" requires the poet to calm his heart, the meaning of "Ling" is true, and poets should express their feelings, eventually,it will reach a harmonious and natural "thick" poetic realm that is one with the Tao,and this Tao is Zhuang Zi's Tao.There are allusions to the use of "Zhuang Zi" in Zhong and Tan's poems, there are poems similar to Zhuang Zi's cynical attitude towards the dark society, and their poetry of seeking spiritual transcendence through Zhuang Zi's thought because of his hard life, the poem collection also contains noble and independent temperament.Zhong and Tan love the landscape, they think that poets need a quiet heart when creating poetry, under the influence of Zhuang Zi,they created personalized cold and peculiar poetry.
