A highly developed information networkgradually formed in the context of globalization,New Media makes the information spread more widely,faster and makes the forms more diverse,content more diverse.With the help of the high technology,New Media plays a more important role than the traditional media in the rural society.It has penetrated into the daily lives of common Bao'an villages,affecting the lifestyle of common people beyond what traditional media never was able to.The article surveyed on Bao'an ethnic minority group in the Northwestern part of China.Using in-depth interviews,contributory observations,andhalf-closed questionnaires combined with theory mining and individual cases,this article was able to analyze what Bao'an people responded to the influences in both the material aspect and the spiritual aspect brought by the new media,and the collateral aftermath of the society.The article divides into 6 chapters,the introduction chapter focuses on the theoretical importance of this field and the research methodology,including both domestic and foreign research status quo.The first Chapter defines new media and analyzed the traits and the affects of cultural communications.The second chapter compares and analyses how the traditional media dies out and the new media prospers in modem Bao'an rural communities.The third chapter focuses on how new media impacts the change of concept,the new way of interpersonal communication,the new choice of clothing and housing,the diversity of leisure life,the new platform of Bao'an's broadsword.The fourth chapter pays attention to the negative effects of new media,the relative deprivation of Baoan farmersand the erosion of the traditional society under the influence of new media.The fifth Chapter summarizes previous statements and explores how the new media could bring helpful changes to the Bao'an rural community.
