Cohen's Defence Studies On The Egalitarian View Of Socialism

Equality has always been the value goal of people's pursuit of justice,which reflects the awareness awakening of the all-round development consciousness of human society,which highlights the transcendence of the material existence.The Marxist concept of equality aims at achieving the ultimate value of each individual's liberation,discusses the implementation of specific historical equality under the condition of public ownership.The analysis of the Marxist representative,G·A·Cohen,inherits the Marxist concept of equality,and refutes and criticizes the idea of anti-Marxist equality.This paper starts with Cohen and Nozick's research on the defense of the concept of equality.Through analyzing Cohen's doubts and criticisms of Nozick in the process of analyzing and comparing the different views of equality he gradually unfolds and reveals Cohen,then considers his views from the perspective of classical Marxist view,and explores its value and avoids its lack so as to benefit the connotation and realization of a better life in the new era.There are five sections in this paper.The first part is the introduction.It mainly introduces the purpose significance and research summary of the topic at home and abroad.It shows that the reason and value of this topic lay the foundation for Cohen's research on socialist equality.The second part mainly introduces Cohen 's defense of the socialist view of equality.The Marxist view of equality has been "aphasia" due to changes in the theme of the times;the gap between the rich and the poor in global capitalism has become increasingly evident;the moral turn of Cohen's theory of the purport of equality has constituted the background of Cohen's defense and the conservative freedom represented by Nozick The challenge to the socialist view of equality constitutes the theoretical background of Cohen's defense.The third part clarifies Cohen's defense and theoretical construction of the socialist view of equality.In response to Nozick ' s theoretical challenges Cohen conducted a one-on-one refutation;he disentangled his view of equality interpreted the principle of self-ownership and demonstrated that socialism's equal distribution and freedom do not conflict with other viewpoints weakening socialism.The threat ofequality.At the same time Cohen abandoned Nozick's principle of self-ownership absorbed the equality and equality of the conditions of the egalitarians and built a new concept of equality.The fourth part focuses on clarifying Cohen's Marxist considerations for defending the socialist view of equality.This article is from the three levels of Cohen's premise defense core defense and essence defense of the concept of equality from shallow to deep.By sorting out Cohen's critique of Nozick's view of equality he discovered that Nozick based on the assumption of the private possession of the world's initial resources constructed the “Liberal supremacist” logic of the concept of equality which essentially defended the inequality of capitalist private ownership;Henry refuted by the collective set of resources in the world and constructed the concept of equality in the logic of "complete egalitarianism" which essentially defends the world's communal system.This defense came from the Marxist standpoint and viewpoint of equality but did not accept the Marxist dialectic method and laid a hidden danger for the defense work.In the fifth part,this article makes an assessment of Cohen socialism's equality defense from the aspects of theoretical value theory deficiency and practical value.Through the criticism of Nozick equity by Cohen,we find that the equality pursued by Cohen is a normative and valuable theoretical design.It does help us to set up an ideal system for the future,which is devoid of Utopian fantasy because of the abandonment of Marxist dialectics and excessive reliance on moral power.it does help us to set up an ideal system for the distant future,but it has a Utopian imagination to give up Marxist dialectics and over-reliance on moral power;It is helpful to lay a theoretical design foundation for that social doctrine of equality,but lacks effective implementation conditions and guarantee foundation.At the same time,the political philosophy and normative philosophical paradigm set by Cohen has a reasonable reference for solving the problem of the disparity between rich and poor people in China and the problem of solidification of class.
