Providing substantial help for the parties is the basic goal of effective defense pursuit.In this process,the lawyer's professional norms,as a supplemental guide specification,has gradually entered the field of judges and become one of the important reference standards.This article will use this as From the angle of view,to explore the standards of effective defense of lawyers in the US criminal procedure system.The article first discusses the changes in effective defense standards,whether it affects the "reasonable and effective" criteria after the initial operation of adversarial proceedings,and eventually the Supreme Court of Justice forms the Strickland standard on the basis of summarizing a large number of past cases.The second part and the third part of the article,based on summarizing the above-mentioned standard changes,through case summarization analysis and integration of relevant scholars' views,discusses the important factors affecting effective standards,most of which are clearly defined in the professional standards of lawyers.The regulations and practice have proved that these professional standards have become one of the criteria for determining the validity of defenses.Therefore,it is necessary to conduct a detailed analysis of the relationship between the lawyer's professional standards and effective defense standards.On the basis of summarizing the foregoing,the fourth part of the article provides experience for the improvement of the quality of lawyers' defense in China.At present,China is not suitable for copying,but there are still important implications for attaching importance to the role of lawyers and improving the quality of defense lawyers in China.
