The generation and development of ethnic groups is not only the continuation and development of one's blood and cultural community, but also the result of integration and differentiation with other ethnic groups in the interaction of environment and culture. The Tjavualji located in Taimali Township,Taitung, was known by Japanese scholars as"the Puyuma affected by Paiwan".It is also a concise summary of the evolution of the Eastern Paiwan Group. This study takes the formation, development, and transition of the Tjavual ji as the basic historical clue.It systematically traces the early history of its "heterogeneous flow"and describes the integration and differentiation of tribes under the influence of population, environment and politics.Under the new situation, the Tjavualji sought to integrate the ethnic groups through the restoration of rituals and cultural rejuvenation. It can be found that during the period of its creation and formation, the Tjavualji has become a community that integrates the Puyuma and Paiwan ethnicity;in its development period, differentiation and migration took place due to the influence of population and environmental factors, and in the process it experienced a variety of foreign regimes. At the same time, this process also accepted the integration of another tribe with its own source, and finally reunited into a tribal tribe of the same origin. It follows that ethnic groups are not a "fixed" and invariable entity but a "flowing"community. The process of changes in the "heterogeneous flow" of the Dawang tribes is the epitome of "flowing." At the same time, this study introduces the theory of ethnic group research, and examines the intricacies of Taiwanese aborigines in a micro-perspective while examining the culture and changes of Taiwanese aborigines."Ethnic group" does not exist alone, but exists in the interaction with other ethnic groups. The development and evolution of the Tjavualji reminds us that the study of ethnic groups cannot focus on the ethnic group itself and treat it in isolation.Instead,it should be understood in relation to and interaction with other ethnic groups.Only in this way can we truly understand the complexity of the social culture within a group.
