Quantitative Study Of Handwriting Signature Indentation Depth With AB8000 Handwriting Dynamic Analysis System

The verification of handwriting signature has always been a challenging topic in handwriting examination due to the fact that the number of handwriting stroke as well as its available presenting feature are extremely constraint.While exploring the dynamic feature extracted from handwriting stroke is of great interest,a novel approach in addition to the traditional methods is required.In this study,we utilize AB8000 Handwriting Dynamic Analysis System to perform quantitative measurement and analysis of handwriting indentation depth left on both normal and intimating signature,aiming to explore a new method for handwriting signature verification.Overall,a total of 9 experiment handwriting scenario have been devised in order to study the variation of handwriting indentation depth under different conditions.Given a handful of handwriting signatures,the author aims to explore the stability of handwriting indentation depth on one individual person by cross-comparing indentation data collected from the same experiment scenario with data from different experiment scenario,where the writing instrument and the underlay of handwriting changes.In addition,we devise further experiment scenarios with intimating technique,where observing intimating and copy intimating signature have been respectively generated from the original signature.The characteristic of such indentation profiles,the difference and comparison with original signatures are well explained and summarized in detail.The experiment indicates that:(1)Under the experiment scenario where indentation data collected under the same writing conditions and from the same person,the dynamic curve of handwriting indentation depth are relatively stable;the correlation coefficient between the signatures is moderately correlated,and the overall depth variation range is relatively stable;(2)Under the experiment scenario with three different writing underlays on which handwriting signature have been written,the dynamic curve of handwriting indentation are relatively stable,and the depth curve across each indentation profile is moderately correlated.But the overall depth varied depending on the type of writing underlays;(3)Under the experiment scenario where the indentation profiles generated from the same person with three different writing instruments,the depth curve across each indentation profile is relatively stable,and the depth curve across each indentation profile is moderately correlated.But the overall depth varied depending on the type of writing instrument;(4)Compared with the original handwriting signature,the depth curve of observing intimating signature shows different in trend and details,but there are similarities between the shape of the curve and trend.The correlation coefficient between the two is mostly in low or nonlinear correlation.However,there are also cases where a high correlation coefficient has been found and the overall depth is different from the original signature;(5)Compared with the original handwriting signature,the depth curve of copy intimating signature shows different in trend and details,but there are similarities between the shape of the curve and trend.The correlation coefficient between the two is mostly in low or nonlinear correlation.However,there are also cases where a high correlation coefficient has been found and the overall depth is different from the original signature.
