"Discomfort" And "Escape":a Study Of The Baila People In The Perspective Of Ecological Migration

The implementation of ecological migration project under the national discourse move the Baila people to the Rongjiang county from the moon hill where they lived for generations.After they relocation,Baila people was away from the cultural matrix In space-time,the life environment also changed.In the new environment,Baila people need to adjust their old traditional culture to adapt to the new environment.In the early days of the relocation,Baila people made an attempt to adapt to the daily production and life.However,the transformation of livelihood problem was difficult to overcome and many "discomfort" in the daily life and the life ceremony.After one or two years of residence in the resettlement area,They choose to "escape" and return to the original space and its culture.In this paper,ethnography writing is applied to study the cultural adaptation of the Baila people ecological migrant.First of all,this paper introduces the natural geographical environment,historical memory and space-time view of the Baila people in the moon mountain in order to show the original living environment and historical culture of the Baila people.Outlines the traditional society and life as the basis is for the later literature.Secondly,it states the background of the ecological migration,the situation of immigration and the process of ecological migration under the state discourse.Then,it describes the "discomfort" from agriculture to nonagriculture after the ecological migration of the Baila people.It is also "discomforts" in habitation habits,diet,clothing,leisure and entertainment,daily consumption lifestyle and social relations.After that,the life ritual the Baila people is described in detail,and most of the people in the life ritual must return to the original space.The continuation of the original form is partly due to economic pressure,and on the other hand is due to the specific culture environment in life ritual needed.At the end,it presents the fact that the Baila people who can't overcome the "discomfort" of the culture in the years of ecological migration "escape" and go back to Baila.At the same time,tell the twenties or thirties households to live in the new house for their children to go to school,the other part of people takes the new house as an irregular residence.Culture acculturation is a dynamic process,which is complex and diverse.This article is to explore the "separation mode" of acculturation through the phenomenon of "discomfort" and "escape" of the Baila people in the ecological migration.The "separation mode" in acculturation is the phenomenon of temporarily returning to self cultural position because of higher cultural adaptation pressure than expected.The "escaping" of Baila people is the cultural acculturation "separation mode" after "discomfort".
