Study On The Function Change Of Nuo Culture

Guizhou province is known as a treasure of minority culture,where about 20 minorities lives here from generation to generation.If we compare Guizhou to an ocean of minority culture,the northeastern part of Guizhou is nothing but a shining pearl in the ocean.Nuo in the northeastern part of Guizhou is multi-culture product which is not only influenced by ancient Nuo in the Central Plains but also absorb Taoism,Buddhism and witchcraft of original inhabitants in the northwest of China.The research explores the change in Nuo culture and analyze its reason by comparing the traditional Nuo ritual and modern Nuo ritual and organizing the change history of Nuo ritual since the founding of new China to reveal the relationship between Nuo culture and its existing environment.The paper consists of 3 parts: the first one is introduction which presents the raise of the issue,research significance,research review,the definition of related concepts and research methods.The second part is the main body,chapter one mainly introduces the basic information of the northeastern part of Guizhou and field points;chapter two sorts out the development of Nuo ritual in the northeastern part of Guizhou in history briefly;chapter three describe traditional Nuo ritual in Tiekeng village;chapter four presents the change process of Nuo ritual since the founding of new China;chapter five makes a conclusion about the cultural function change of Nuo ritual.It shows that folk-custom and folk-belief value of Nuo ritual are weakened and its symbol value and economic value are intensified;chapter six explains the reason which causes the change of Nuo ritual in terms of nation,government,society,individual and Nuoculture itself;chapter seven points out new problems of the change of function in Nuo culture which observed in fields investigation.The third part is conclusion.The paper offer the information regarding the Nuo culture which has changed from folk activity with folk belief to a added economic value and symbol for national identity and regional recognition.Although value of different dimension in Nuo culture has been weaken or strengthened,the original dimension value haven't changed completely.At the same time,there are many reasons which causes the change of Nuo culture such as nation,government,society,individual and Nuo culture itself but not a single reason.Those reasons work together to promote the change of Nuo culture.
