Research Of Frank's Dependency Theory

German scholar Andre Frank,as the founder of the theory of dependency,is also a representative scholar of dependency theory.He has long been committed to the study of underdeveloped conditions in Latin American countries and put forward theories of "low development".However,in the field of dependency theory,his academic status seems to be blurred and underestimated compared to Frank's actual achievements.In the process of studying dependency theory,how to evaluate Frank's dependency theory is a problem worthy of attention.In the 1950s,the idea of "modernization was Westernization" was deeply rooted in the academic circles of the time.However,the practice of this modernization in developing countries,especially in Latin America,has repeatedly hit the wall,prompting people to explore modern routes suitable for developing countries.The German scholar Frank developed a new vision of modernization theory and made a useful exploration of how to achieve modernization in Latin America,forming his attachment theory.Frank's theoretical system was influenced by Marx's world historical thoughts and conflict theory and Lenin's imperialism;the pioneers of contemporary dependency,Balan and Prebis,also laid the foundation for Frank's dependency theory;Frank revealed the developing countries The state of social and economic development,put forward the famous"underdeveloped development" theory,accurately defined "underdeveloped" and"underdeveloped",and used this analysis model to carry out the contradiction and development stage of the capitalist system.A meticulous analysis,as a radical dependencyist,believes that the less developed countries need to break free of the "chain of attachment" and put forward the famous "decoupling" theory.His thoughts have been criticized and inherited,and he has opened up his own innovative ideas on the backward problems and the way out of the underdeveloped economies.The evaluation of Frank's attachment theory should be divided into two.The contribution of Frank's theory of attachment cannot be underestimated:in the field of Western development theory,Frank's theory of dependency not only perfects the construction of the theory system of attachment,but also has a profound influence on the emergence and development of the theory of world system;as a member of the development theory of Marxism,Frank's theory of dependency also has a distinct Marxist color and has made his own contribution to the development of new Marxism.But as a theory that emerged in the 1960s and 1970s,Frank's theory of attachment also had considerable time limitations.This paper tries to find a suitable academic position for the definition of Frank's dependency theory,and makes a more objective and fair evaluation.The idea of exploring the path of modernization of underdeveloped countries based on the position of developing countries'own national conditions also has certain enlightenment significance for us.
