| Section 202 which was established in The Housing Act of 1959 is the earliest and largest federal housing program for the elderly in the United States.Since its introduction,the relevant federal housing policies for the elderly are formulated and modified on the basis of it.With the formulation and freeze,restart and extension,adjustment and improvement of Section 202,the United States gradually formed a relatively complete federal elderly housing policy system centering on the Section 202 plan to ensure better housing for the elderly.This paper studies the Section 202 in the formulation and implementation of social and historical background on the basis of combing and analysis three evolution stages of Section 202 from 1959 to 2000.Analyze the main methods and implementation effects of Section 202 in provid:ing housing for the elderly,such as reducing housing rents,providing long-term loans with low interest to developers,and signing contracts with developers,and then analyze the reasons why the housing for the elderly in the United States is still in trouble. |
