As a special group,it is urgent and necessary for veterans of Vietnam to give preferential care to them.It is of great practical significance to apply the knowledge, skills, attitudes and values of social work to the preferential care of this special group.Through theoretical analysis and practical investigation, this paper finds that there are insufficient support from the state, community and family in the current preferential work of the veterans who help Vietnam to fight against the United States and participate in the war.It also recognizes that this group generally has social communication, spiritual comfort, social respect and other needs.Combining with the "Veterans' Home" project and drawing lessons from the professional theory of social work,a series of group activities were designed to meet the needs of veterans, meet their expectations for the work of preferential care, and improve the quality of the work of preferential care for veterans who participated in the war against the United States in Vietnam. At the same time, through introspection and summary of the advantages and experience of social work intervention in preferential care work,I hope that the study of this unique group of veterans who have participated in the war to assist Vietnam in resisting US aggression can provide some practical experience for the development of preferential care work in our country, improve the preferential care work of veterans who participated in the war in our country, and also help the development of social work in our country.
