A Study Of The Communist Youth League Of China Commemorative Activities:1920-1949

Memorial activities are programmed and ritualized behaviors with unique political functions,and they are important parts of historical memory.In terms of different commemorative subjects,there are different organizational differences in the historical orientation,political orientation and social functions presented by their commemorative activities.During the period of the New Democratic Revolution,the communist youth league of China(the CYLC),which was founded at the same time with the communist party of China(the CPC),organized many commemorative activities in the name of the League,played a huge role in promoting the Chinese revolution.From a historical perspective,based on the League's official publications"pioneer","Chinese youth","proletarian youth”and"Lenin youth",this paper investigates the League's commemorative activities in the New Democratic period.From this perspective,the historical context of the commemoration activities of the League is sorted out,from preliminary exploration to maturity,and with the situation of the revolution,the strategic shift of the commemorative discourse is presented.This paper focuses on the main content of the communist youth league commemoration activities,the various forms of the commemoration activities and the characteristics presented.On this basis,comprehensively analyze the political function of the commemoration of the League in the New Democratic Revolution:the construction of historical memory,propaganda theory and politics advocate and coordinate multi-party relations and strengthen the organization of the group.Finally through the study of the communist youth league commemorative activities to provide some inspiration for the development of the new era of commemorative activities.
