With the rapid development of information technology,the rise of big data has had an important impact on many fields including economy and law.As an emerging method of judicial data mining,analysis and utilization,Judicial Big Data is of great value for people to explore and utilize judicial experience and judicial wisdom contained in judicial data.Judicial big data and legal artificial intelligence together constitute the core content of the construction of smart courts in China.Strengthening and deepening the application and development of judicial big data is a major frontier problem facing China's current judicial reform.The transformation of the social power structure brought about by the information technology revolution has put forward new requirements for the judicial capacity of the people's courts.Judicial Big Data,with its data mining advantages,makes use of the analysis of a large number of cases to have important value in reducing the uncertainty of the judiciary,promoting the uniform application of the law,and assisting judicial decision-making.In addition,judicial big data has certain value in the fields of legislation and social governance.However,due to the current dilemma in the research and application of judicial big data and the tension between the big data and the judiciary and the problems brought about by it,the value of judicial big data has certain limits.In judicial practice,we should objectively and rationally view the value of judicial big data and the limits of its existence,and scientifically,prudently and rationally develop and utilize judicial big data.
