| Foucault is a famous thinker in contemporary France.His works are quite rich in his life.However,throughout his book,the discussion of power issues has been running through it,forming his most famous micro-power thinking.Different from the traditional power models,Foucault’s power thoughts focuses on a "micro" word,which is a kind of power at the micro level,which penetrates into every corner of the society and monitors and disciplines people.Power here at Foucault is essentially a kind of relationship.It has no center,cannot be owned by any individuals,and has the ability to produce everything.This paper hopes to achieve the overall grasp of micro-power thinking and through the analysis of the background of Foucault’s micro-power formation,Foucault’s philosophicalization of power issues,the development of power thoughts and the specific content of power thoughts and ultimately get an evaluation that is as reasonable as possible for the meaning,value,and limitations of Foucault’s power thoughts.This article contains five parts.The first part is an examination of the social and historical dimensions proposed by Foucault’s micro-power thinking.The western society of the twentieth century experienced two world wars,the capitalist economic crisis and the political movements of various countries.France is also in it,especially the "May Revolution"that broke out in France in 1968,which has had a tremendous impact on the whole country..Foucault gradually realized in these turbulence that since the Enlightenment era,the established modern power operation mechanism has been unable to explain these problems,and a new power operation mechanism has been quietly established.Through questioning and criticizing the modernity,subjectivity and rationality of Enlightenment philosophy,Foucault proposes that these so-called fair and just things are nothing more than accidental constructs of power.As far as the source of ideological theory is concerned,Foucault’s power thoughts and genealogy methods are directly derived from Nietzsche’s power will and genealogy.The second part introduces two traditional views of power and Foucault’s criticism and change about them.Foucault is dissatisfied with these two traditional views of power:one is the legalist legal power model,and the other is the economic model of Marxism.Foucault holds that power has no subject,no center,and is productive.It is essentially a force relationship,not a concept of belonging.Foucault also philosophized the issue of power,and advocated the issue of power from a human perspective,making it a kind of Ontology of human self.The power issue has now become a philosophical topic.The third part is the investigation of the three stages of Foucault’s thought of power through Foucault’s important works in various periods.These three stages are:archaeological stage,genealogy stage,and ethics and survival aesthetics stage.The archaeological stage pays attention to the investigation of dialogue and reveals the inner relationship between power and discourse.In this period,Foucault’s view of power is close to the traditional view of power.Power is a kind of negative and oppressive force.The genealogy stage pays attention to the examination of power.Disciplinary power makes people become the subject of discipline,and makes the society turn into a disciplined society.Through the investigation of sexual history,it is proposed that power is productive and affirmative;In the former two stages,Foucault reveals that power is everywhere.At the stage of ethics and existence aesthetics,Foucault has found a personal technology of self-selection for individuals.Although he admits that power technology cannot be evaded,individuals can choose to ignore it and makes it invalid.The fourth part is a panoramic analysis of Foucault’s power thoughts.The nature,characteristics,and five specific dimensions and operational mechanisms of power are elaborated separately.Power is essentially a force relationship,with no subject,no center,and is plur.It has relationship,internality,bottom-up,social intention and dialectic.Power can be divided into power to the other,power to the subject,space power,disciplinary power,and pastor power.Power uses disciplinary techniques to make the subject a tamed person,thereby they can serve the society better.The fifth part is the evaluation of Foucault’s power thought.On the one hand,we must recognize the value and significance of Foucault’s power thought.For example,it provide us with a different perspective of power,voice the marginalists.On the other hand,we must also recognize the limitations of Foucault’s power thinking,such as his neglect of the internal power of the individual and the neglect of power at the macro level.For Foucault’s thought of power,we should treat it dialectically,connect it with reality,especially in the history of the development of western philosophy to give a deep theoretical investigation,showing its value,significance and shortcomings. |
