A Study On The Design Of Undergraduate Degree Thesis Under The Background Of Law Teaching Reform In China

The high-lightened development of rule-by-law society and the expanded enrollment of colleges have made Law a very popular major with undergraduate students.On the contract,law students could hardly live up to employees' expectations,represented by a declined employment rate.Problems arose from law education at undergraduate level,and a reform was in dire need.This thesis analyzed the relationship between graduation thesis and law education from the perspective of thesis for Bachelor's degree,in order to bring out the necessity for the reform of graduation thesis.Furthermore,problems with graduation thesis were looked up into,and the suggestion of adding moot court to current graduation thesis mode was raised,so as to achieve the examination mode where either academic thesis or moot court could be chosen.This thesis was comprised of five chapters.The first chapter was introduction that covered research background,goal and significance,current researches at home and broad,methodology and etc.The second chapter was on the correlation and influence between thesis and law education.This chapter stated that writing thesis was at the core of law education,and its quality could be regarded as the measurement of the quality of the latter,making it one of the important evaluation criterion for law education.It further summarized the interrelationship between graduation thesis and law education,and brought up the view that graduation thesis is the catalyst for the reform of law education.The third chapter was on the problems with graduation thesis and analyses where major problems were generalized into three aspects of preparation,writing and oral defense.And the analyses further found out that these problems were caused mainly by thesis management system and the relationship between students and supervisors.The fourth chapter was on the reasons and significances for advocating moot court.Through detailed elaboration on reasons and significances of moot court,the necessity for diversion reform was reinforced.The fifth chapter focused on graduation thesis reform and feasible proposal for it.Diversion reform was proposed to add moot court as a substitute for traditional graduation thesis.Detailed plans and implementing process were elaborated on this diversion reform.
