A Study On The Function Of "Folk Law" Of Marriage Bride

In recent years,the issue of the custom of wedding betrothal has aroused widespread concern in the society,and even attracted great attention from the state and government.The Central Committee Document No.1 proposed to control the bad atmosphere of the high-priced betrothal and purify the rural atmosphere,which fully illustrates that this traditional custom has reached a situation that needs to be innovated.Since the reform and opening up,our society has undergone drastic social transformation,the process of modernization and the pace of urbanization have spread to all corners of Chinese society,and the traditional rural society has made a qualitative leap in the level of economic development.However,when we look back on the development process of the past 40 years,we find that the culture,morality,ethics and grass-roots governance of rural areas are exposed.There are many problems,the sky-high price lottery is a concentrated reflection of the outbreak of various problems.Under the background of rural revitalization,we begin to attach importance to the cultural construction in rural areas.The custom of wedding betrothal has a long history.As a representative part of folk law,it has a close relationship with rural culture.It has been deeply rooted in the hearts of farmers.It is certainly not advisable to solve the problem in a "one size fits all" way.The author believes that only subordinate function is the main factor.From the perspective of righteousness,a thorough study of the customs of betrothal gifts can find the fundamental solution to the problem.Therefore,this paper is based on exploring the positive and negative functions and alienation of the folk law of betrothal ceremony in rural social transformation,trying to find the way to realize its functions in rural social development in the new era.This paper chooses a representative village in Changsha City,Hunan Province,which is in the process of social transformation.By means of interviews and case studies,this paper makes an in-depth study of the wedding betrothal events in this village.It analyses the positive functions of the traditional wedding betrothal custom from the aspects of the changes of the wedding betrothal,the villagers' personal experiences and concepts about the wedding betrothal and the disputes over the wedding betrothal.How to step by step alienate the negative function in the development process of the village,and further discover the social problems brought to the village by the alienation of the marriage betrothal ritual function,and finally devote themselves to finding the realistic way to revitalize the marriage betrothal ritual in the current rural areas and play its positive function.
