With the development of wireless communication technology, the form of network construction for some specific scenarios such as military battlefield and earthquake relief is also evolving and perfecting.Ad Hoc networks are characterized by its self-organization,independence from infrastructures and multi-hop communication, which attracts a large number of personnel to conduct in-depth research on it,including the channel access protocol at the data link layer and the network layer routing protocol in the network node. Most of the research on channel access protocol is aimed at the competitive protocol, due to the lack of fairness of network nodes caused by such protocols, the collision rate of network data increases when the network load increases, which will make the stability difficult to maintain. In contrast, the slot allocation protocol can guarantee a better network stability. This dissertation focuses on the design and simulation of data link layer in tactical wireless ad hoc networks.Firstly, the time slot assignment protocol is selected as the starting point of the research of the data link layer, and the classical TDMA protocol is used as the design basis for the channel access of nodes. Its principle mechanism is studied and coded by the OPNET simulation platform;then it is functionally modified. On the one hand,a packet format conforming to a multi-hop wireless ad hoc network scenario is designed. On the one hand, data encapsulation and packet verification and decapsulation of the packet based on ICI communication are implemented. On the other hand, global address registration is used to implement MAC address diversity distribution and establishing an effective data channel with the upper and lower protocol stack, thereby improving the functional design of the data link layer of the node;finally, designing some targeted experiments to verify the protocol and functional feasibility of the final design of the node data link layer and link quality and stability of its application in Multi-hop wireless ad hoc network.
