Research On The Development Of Socialist Democracy With Chinese Characteristics

The development of socialist democracy with Chinese characteristics is a basic problem in the development of socialist politics in contemporary China.The general goal of the reform proposed by general secretary Xi Jinping is to promote the modernization of the country’s governance system and governance capacity,and the thought of unswervingly following the path of political development of socialism with Chinese characteristics and developing a socialist democratic political system suited to China’s national conditions,which has greatly innovated the Marxist theory of political development.This paper expounds the theory and thought of the political development path of socialism with Chinese characteristics of general secretary Xi Jinping,and uses the principles and methods of political science to prove it.After World War II,western developed countries,led by the United States,tried to promote western democracy as a "universal value" on a global scale.But many developing countries the practice of the political development shows the westernization of political development is to go,at the same time proves that Xi Jinping,general secretary of the third world countries or regions of democratic development cannot leave the correctness of the western-style democracy view,China’s socialist democracy with Chinese characteristics unswervingly road of development,there is no doubt that for the majority of political development in developing countries provides China experience and wisdom.This paper summarizes the characteristics,system design and operation mode of socialist democracy with Chinese characteristics.Socialist democracy with Chinese characteristics is an organic unity of the leadership of the party,the position of the people as masters of the country and the comprehensive rule of law.Since the reform and opening up,socialist democracy with Chinese characteristics has made great achievements in its development,including the improvement of the system of people’s congresses,the awakening of citizens’ awareness of political participation,the improvement of rule of law and democracy,and the rise of consultative democracy.But at the same time,there are some problems in the further development of democracy.This paper systematically analyzes the challenges faced by the current socialist democracy with Chinese characteristics,including the people’s livelihood guarantee mechanism and citizen participation channels.Socialist democracy with Chinese characteristics is institutional and consultative.On the basis of the modernization of national governance,we should protect citizens’ democratic rights through effective national governance,build and improve the effective functioning mechanism of democracy,and make democracy legalized and institutionalized.We should make every effort to expand and improve the functions of democratic political participation,checks and balances,and accountability,and enhance our ability to realize and give full play to these functions.We will form and improve the socialist political and cultural system that underlies socialist democracy with Chinese characteristics.This is also the goal of the further development of socialist democracy with Chinese characteristics.
