Freedom is a bright prospect that people generally yearn for and pursue, and it is also one of the focal points of debate among philosophers of various schools in the west.Jean-Paul Sartre,as a famous French philosopher, writer and social activist in the 20 th century, has always been the core of his research on freedom. This paper first elaborates the reasons for choosing Sartre's view of freedom and its main contents, then analyzes its limitations and rationality according to the comparison between Sartre's view of freedom and marxism's view of freedom, and explores the shining points of the theory. The main body of this paper is divided into four chapters: the first chapter, from the background of the emergence of Sartre's view of freedom, mainly analyzes its social background and theoretical basis.Extremely dark in the first half of the 20 th century in France, people suffering from the political and economic crisis and war crisis multiple consequences, such as the third revolution of science and technology while improving the people's life, the but again give people wear off the shackles of a new machine, into a depressed, anxious,to has urgent and strong desire for freedom, the spirit of the general requirements for the formation and development of Sartre's freedom provides the realistic conditions. In addition, the spiritual freedom of early ancient Greece and some free thoughts since modern times, such as Descartes' "cogito philosophy",husserl's phenomenology, kierkegaard's "individual philosophy",etc.,also had a great influence on the construction of Sartre's view of freedom. The second chapter focuses on describing the main content of Sartre's view of freedom, respectively from the ideological foundation of freedom, constraints, the consequences of behavior and the social historical interpretation of freedom these four aspects of research,to present its ideological connotation more comprehensive and systematic.Sartre put forward that the existence of man is the existence of self, which is freedom, and in the process of constant connection between self and freedom, the leading role is still self,so man should realize and defend freedom through constant choice, action and practice. The third chapter compares Sartre's view of freedom with marxism's view of freedom from two perspectives of connection and difference so as to further understand the essential connotation of Sartre's view of freedom from the scientific standpoint of marxism. The fourth chapter, from the positive and negative aspects of Sartre's view of freedom,to reveal the shortcomings and difficulties of Sartre's view of freedom, and explore the rationality of his ideas,so as to form an objective and comprehensive evaluation,on this basis, and strive to get some useful enlightenment. The author believes that to comprehensive and rational view of Sartre's freedom, while its freedom exists many defects, but each thought system has certain realistic background and the necessity of its existence, after so long now that Sartre freedom is still being debated,so there must be worthy of its research content,so we in addition to see Sartre makes itself insufficient, but also to dig up from the bright spots in the history and reality, this for us to correctly realize freedom, freedom, and understand and adhere to marxist freedom has important theoretical value and guiding significance.
