Without acceptability,a permanent social order could not have happened.Habermas assimilates Kant's practical rationality and Webber's purpose-instrument rationality,extracting piths from other forerunners,and then puts forward of his own theory of communicative rationality.Rational discourse and argument is a main method of his communication theory.Habermas pays attention to inter-subjectivity and depends on the non-mandatory forces of the best argument and then forms his own characteristic rational acceptability theory,which is based on the rational discourse and argument and the reason-based rational recognition.The dialectical relationship of argument and acceptability is mainly manifested in three aspects.That's the discourse acceptability,valid argument and acceptability,reasonable procedure and acceptability.Habermas has given special attention to the rational representation in the course of the argument,which is reflected in his particular emphasis on the acceptability of the argument process.This is manifested in the thought that Habermas carried out the rational thought and rational principle to the end,namely that the argument must be persuasive in form and process,not imposed,and that it must be acceptable,not mandatory.The study about argument and acceptability is not only an exploration on the principles,ways and the internal relations of Habermas' rational discourse and argument methodology,but also an exploration of the ways how to scientifically and effectively using proof method in the process of public issues formation to ensure a process of democracy and equality.
