The fertile cultural soil as well as theoretical tradition has nourished Italy's outstanding thinkers, who have exerted a far-reaching influence in the international theoretical community. The Italian thinker Roberto Esposito is one of Italian thinkers, whose ideas on the concepts of community, immunization, and bios have been important research objects in today's theoretical circles. The immunization paradigm is the core of his theory.Taking advantage of the current wave of research in biopolitics,it has attracted wide attention in Europe and the international theoretical world. This thesis mainly explores the immunization paradigm from three aspects.First of all, this article mainly examines three external sources for Esposito's immunization paradigm, including Thomas Hobbes,Friedrich Nietzsche and Jacques Derrida. While absorbing the political thoughts of his predecessors,Esposito borrows the concept of medical immunity for political interpretation. At the same time,he locates the immunization paradigm in his own concept of community, forming important connotations of Esposito immunization.Secondly, this thesis discusses the unique position of the immunization paradigm in the theories of biopolitics. The predecessors of biopolitics, such as Michel Foucault,Giorgio Agamben and Antonio Negri, have explored biopolitics from different perspectives, which lays a solid theoretical foundation for later researchers.Esposito has created a unique way of interpreting the connection between life and politics. Finally, this thesis explores the function and role of the immunization paradigm from specific areas, including law, religion, and anthropology.By analyzing Esposito's immunization paradigm from its sources, its theoretical background and its application in concrete areas, the thesis deepens the understanding of his immunization paradigm and demonstrates the explanatory power of this theory.
