Mao Zedong's concept of youth is an important part of Mao Zedong thought.Its formation and development process runs through Mao Zedong's magnificent revolutionary career and the period of socialist construction in full swing.Young people,as a special social group,must pay attention to appropriate ways and methods in their work.As a great Marxist,Mao Zedong always pays attention to youth issues and attaches great importance to youth growth.In the long-term practice of China's revolution and social construction,Mao Zedong's concept of youth with rich connotations has been formed step by step.Mao Zedong's outlook on youth is a systematic and scientific ideological and theoretical system formed by a series of speeches,talks,letters,discussions and important documents about youth of Mao Zedong.It is the product of the combination of Marxist outlook on youth with Chinese revolution and construction practice,and the inheritance and development of Marxist outlook on youth.Mao Zedong's youth view is that Mao Zedong absorbed the essence of Chinese traditional excellent ideology and culture on the basis of inheriting Marx's view of youth.It was synchronized with the times and enriched and perfected in practice.Mao Zedong's discussion on youth and youth work mainly involves the characteristics,functions and status of youth,youth education,youth use,youth movement,youth development and youth work.In terms of theory,it not only enriches and develops the Marxist concept of youth,but also is an important theoretical source of the core youth of Chinese leaders in previous dynasties,which lays a strong theoretical foundation for the establishment and development of Chinese youth studies.In practice,it is of great practical value in solving youth problems,leading youth thoughts and guiding youth work in the new era.
