Asylum seekers are also known as asylum applicants.According to the refugee law, asylum seekers usually refer to the people who are waiting for the approval of a country to recognize their refugee status. They are divided into different types according to different reasons for application and the relevant regulation documents of international law.The decisions for different types of asylum seekers are made by the state after examination and verification according to its actual situation and relevant laws and regulations. At present,a large number of asylum seekers mainly come from Central Asia and Africa, and most of them are forced to be displaced because of war. They generally apply for refugee status to neighboring countries or European countries. The state verifies whether asylum seekers have refugee status in accordance with the relevant provisions of the domestic laws, but the refugee policies are not only affected by its domestic legislation, but also subject to the international treaties it has signed. At present, not only individual countries, but also the international organizations such as UNHCR,EU and the World Bank spare no efforts to protect the rights of asylum seekers. In terms of the world rights protects of asylum seekers, the Convention on the Status of Refugees and its protocols have had a profound impact on the rights protection of asylum seekers. In addition, laying down minimum standards for the reception of asylum seekers made by the European Union,as well as other human rights protection conventions, have a significant impact on the rights protection of asylum seekersThere are many problems in the protection of the rights of asylum seekers, but the main contradiction is very prominent, namely the insufficient and inadequate protection of rights.Countries around the world have not reached an agreement on the protection of the rights of asylum seekers, especially asylum seekers caused by war, there are not many countries that can provide protection for them.Due to the lack of relevant international conventions, many countries are not active in providing protection, especially material support,to asylum seekers.Since the Syrian crisis has happened,a large number of asylum seekers swarm into Turkey and EU Member States, which has not only caused a series of social problems such as local public security, medical care and social security, but also resulted in violations of the rights and interests of asylum seekers who are women and children. In addition, due to the lack of discussion on the specific rights and interests of asylum seekers in the international community, the content of the rights and interests of asylum seekers are also uncertain. In order to solve these problems, countries around the world must increase their concern and protection for asylum seekers and formulate their own laws and regulations for protecting asylum seekers. It is no doubt that depending on a single country or an individual international organization is an utterly inadequate method in dealing with this severe situation.Since 2018,the United Nations has encouraged various countries and various international organizations to actively participate in the protection of the rights of asylum seekers and refugees by convening refugee conferences and high-level forums. In the other hand, they will discuss how to avoid the uncontrolled situation caused by the influx of refugees and asylum seekers in some countries and regions. In conclusion, the whole world and mankind must take action, work together in line with the spirit and value of the community with a shared future of mankind, and encourage every nation and country of the international community to participate in the protection of asylum seekers and refugees who are the most vulnerable groups in the world.
