Judgements of the European Court of Human Rights on two cases issued on February 14,2017 and March 14,2017 respectively-"S.K v.Russia" and "Ilias and Ahmed v.Hungary".In two cases,The European Court of Human Rights carried out a detailed analysis of the applicant's claims and the defenses of the States concerned and issued the judgements that the parties,Russia and Hungary have violated several Articles in fulfilling their human rights protection obligations under the European Convention on Human Rights.According to the provisions of the Convention,the applicant shall be compensated by the States.This thesis summarizes the limitations of the European human rights protection system in aspect of asylum seekers protection that reflected in two cases and puts forward several suggestions for improvement.This thesis first briefly introduces the European human rights system.In this section,it analyzes the causes and impacts of the current European refugee crisis.It also clarifies the legal status of asylum seekers in seeking asylum and explains the function of European Convention on Human Rights and the European Court of Human Rights in Europe human rights protection system.The second and third parts of this thesis focus on the case facts and applicable laws of the case S.K v.Russia and Ilias and Ahmed v.Hungary,after the analysis and make the conclusions in fourth part of human rights protection system in Europe limits the rights of asylum seekers in several aspects,such as the implementation of responsibilities by Member States,the limitation of power in European Court of Human Rights and different legal standards.Furthermore,in the conclusion part,it puts forward opinions and demonstrates on how to improve the current human rights protection system and the inspirations of theses two cases for China.
