The emergence of mass media has not only brought great changes to the way of human communication, but also profoundly affected the democratization process of countries and regions around the world.Taiwan election, which has been seen as a Western-style "democracy window",are the vane of its political situation. In martial Law Period, politics magazines were a mobilization base for dissident groups. After lifting the martial law,the opposition parties led by the DPP scrambled for electronic media resources monopolized by the KMT,and the interaction between politics and media began. After 2014,Social media has considered to have changed Taiwan's electoral politics. These show that the unique function of mass media is to have a lasting and profound impact on Taiwan's political democratization through elections. This paper has identified the important proposition of "Taiwan election political mediatization" by sorting out the historical interactive relationship between Taiwan's election politics and the mass media. This research introduces the social construction perspective of European mediatization theory for the first time, focusing on a core issue of the interrelationships between the mass communication changes and the changes of election politics and socio-political cultural. The study pays attention to the important role and influence mechanism of media in specific social historical and cultural conditions, and analyzes the impact of mediatization of Taiwan's election politics on Taiwan politics. In view of this, the article mainly adopts methods of literature analysis, qualitative research, and interdisciplinary research. The study found that the development and change of Taiwan's election politics is a long-term,complex,dynamic,and multifactorial co-construction mediatization process.During Martial law, political magazines put Taiwan's election politics on the track to democratization. The complete liberation of media resources after the lifting of the martial law has contained rich energy for comprehensive elections, rotation of political parties, and struggle between two parties. After 2000,Taiwan's mass media industry was deeply integrated with politics, economy, entertainment, and daily life.Campaign communications became more specialized, and elections became media spectacle of negative elections, populism, and identification tear.Since 2014,social media has pushed Taiwan's younger generations to the political stage, and social media with the potential to subvert politics has catalyzed new political participation paths and election mobilization models in the heavily divided Taiwanese society. The Taiwan election has indeed entered a stable state of mediatization led by media logic.Studies have shown that the rise of media and communication power is the result of Taiwan's socio-political and economic structural changes. The media has intervened and shaped the institutional culture, social identity, and democratic value of Taiwan's elections through framework, acculturation, and media situation mechanisms.
